Aspiring Judges:
The following decision has come as a Recommendation from the Judges and Standards Committee to the B.C.V. and has been endorsed by that body. "Aspiring judges are permitted and encouraged to have input into the judging of awards where both Adult and Young Birds are competing against each other and, in consultation with a Senior Panel Judge, should also be given the oportunity to have input into the judging of Colour Classes.
They are not permitted to have input into the judging of diploma and opposite sex to diploma awards.

Penalty and Disqualification Clauses for Guidance of A.N.B.C. Judges
Faults which require disqualification:
 1.    Sickness:               - including dirty vent. (not to be confused with nervous wet vent) *
 2.    Scaley:                  - face, legs and feather rot. *
 3.    Injury/Deformaty: - dislocated joints, undershot beak, missing toes or part thereof, obvious signs of healed feather plucking.
 4.    Cock birds with an all brown cere.
 5.    Lutino/Albino - no visible iris ring in eye.
 6.    Birds with both main tail feathers missing.
 7.    Any birds showing characteristics other than those described in The Standard for the variety they represent e.g.,
        Cinnamon Clearwings, Cinnamon Greywings,and birds entered in the wrong class.
 8.    Varieties not covered in The Stanard if there is not an any other Non Standard variety class in the schedule for the Show.
 9.    Broken nest feather:- i.e., multi pin feathers, broken caps, solid iris ring coupled with adult colour ceres.
 * Must be removed from bench.

Faults which should be penalised:
 1.    Any bird out of condition.
 2.    Flecked headed birds - the heavier the markings, the heavier the penalty.
 3.    Birds of a variety not described in The Standard as having a flesh coloured cere.
       (Excludes Dominant Pieds with all or part of the cere pied out)
 4.    Birds with cleft masks.
 5.    Birds with shallow or narrow masks, incorrect coloured cheek patches and with missing or miss-shaped spots where The Standard requires six.
 6.    Any bird with spots on the mask where The Standard requires none.
 7.    Any bird that does not have the intensity of the body colour as required by The Standard.
 8.    Birds that do not have clearly defined, or correct coloured wing markings as described in The Standard.
 9.    Birds with long flighted and heavy secondary characteristics.
10.   Birds with flight/s or one main tail feathermissing or twisted primary tail feather/s.
11.   Birds with incorrect tail and tail quill colour as per The Standard.
12.   Birds with broken,missing, twisted claws (not toes).
13.   Red eyed self colours with markings on the head, back of neck and wings and incorrect cheek patches.
14.   Self coloured birds and Lacewings with body coloured suffususion.
15.   Clearwings - clear ground colour is the optimum as per The Standard, the heavier the markings the hevier the penalty.
16.   Opalines showing dark feathers in mantle and neck or with bad wing markings.
17.   Apart from Opalines, birds showing body colour on wings, back, and neck.
18.   Spangles with ground colour spot on back of head (bigger the spot bigger the penalty).
19.   If a separate class is provided, Australian Dominant Pieds showing incorrect markings as defined by The Standard.
20.   Crested - where a bird has multiple (more than one) crests or has a crest or feather disturbance outside of the areas allowed for The Standard.
